Gamers in Athens?

Postby Serebro » Fri Jul 16, 2010 3:27 am

I've been gaming off and on for 18 years, but just moved to Athens last fall...and seriously craving a real game. It's been too long. I haven't even gotten a convention fix since last July. :(

I like D&D 2nd/3rd eds, Battletech, and Shadowrun 2nd/4th eds, as well as Car Wars. My favorite campaign setting is Al-Qadim, though Faerun and some of the homebrew settings I've run into are rich worlds as well. I've played White Wolf and LARPed it, but not in a number of years.

I also enjoy some board games and many non-CCGs. Not big on overly complex board games (classic Cosmic Encounter is an exception), train games, or most historical wargames. If I'm in a board game mood, I'm usually not up for more than about 2-3 hours of any one game. I have around a dozen non-CCGs that I brought with me when I moved which could use a workout again, too.

I'm located in Athens, within the city limits. What's out here locally for campaigns that I might enjoy or general game nights that are willing to accept new players?

I haven't been able to find any games around here. Live over in Etowah myself. I might be interested in D&D and absolutely love Paranoia (If you haven't heard of it do check it out).
