Show Them Real Adventure!

Bring your friends and join in the fun as we celebrate the release of Dungeon Master's Guide 2, packed with new options for your Dungeons & Dragons 4th Edition game.

In the spirit of Dungeon Mastering, we're giving you the opportunity to create and show off your very own adventure! Work as a team to build encounters using the materials provided. After your team has finished, play another team's adventure or DM the one your team created. We provide you with everything you need -- maps, miniatures, monster stats, and how-to instructions. Just bring your imagination, a pencil or pen, and some dice!

Just for playing, you'll take home the pregenerated character sheet and a miniature of the character you played. If you DM the game, you'll take home a poster map of the encounter areas and a pack of monster miniatures used in the adventure.

This is a very special activity that has never before been a part of Worldwide D&D Game Day! But don't worry if you just want to play; you can participate in as much or as little of the adventure-building activity as you want. Nothing, however, beats the satisfaction of hearing another team howl in terror as they fight the foes and traps you placed for them!

A Passage Into Mystery is a special team-created 6th-level adventure that uses tiles from DU3 Caves of Carnage and monsters from the Monster Manual: Legendary Evils miniatures expansion. Come out on September 19 and be a part of the adventure!

Usually I would add this to Warhorn by now, but I'm waiting to see the content and get an idea of how long it will run so that we can plan to offer side-events as well.

The pdf usually goes up about a month before and the packet arrives about a week before.

I like the Character Sheets they are using. Much more colorful and the layout looks much better for newbies.

Those are the style of the Delve Night redux playtest and were used for the summer conventions' Classic Dungeon Delves as well. They are very nice in person and glossy so that they can be marked on with dry erase and reused.

Have you gotten yours yet? Let me know when You do. I never got the Marketting Kit so no advertisment at IG except the flyers from last gameday which they don't hand out. I don't think they knw they are supposed to stick them in the bags when people buy stuff.

The event kit itself should arrive a week before the event, as usual.

After much discussion and given the unique nature of this Worldwide D&D Gameday, we will be structuring the Cleveland event as follows:

In Slot 1 (11am-4pm) we will be offering multiple tables of the Main Event, a special Team-Built Adventure.

In Slot 2 (4pm-9pm) we will be offering additional tables of the main event for people who want to have another go at it as well as a several tables of lvl1-4 LFR (mostly newer 1-5s like CORM1-5). So, if you liked the main event and want to give it another go you can, if you didn't like it and want to play LFR instead, you can. We'll have several DMs there offering newer lvl1-4 LFR adventures so that everyone can group together with something they want.

Now, for the main event, you'll be grouped into tables of 6 who will then be given a packet including monsters, monster stat cards, a map, and step-by-step instructions to create a unique adventure with two combats using the map and monsters provided. The tables will have an hour of timed step-by-step adventure building following the guide and then the Team Leads will take the adventure to another table and run it for those players. Players will be given level 6 pregens & matching miniatures.

Since the adventure is being created by the entire team at each table and will be a pair of very straightforward combats with monster cards, I'm asking for new people that haven't DMed 4e before or have never DMed before but have a basic player-side grasp of the combat rules to volunteer as Team Leads and give 4e DMing a try. We'll have an experienced 4e DM seeded at each table in case the Team Leads have any questions during adventure creation or while running the adventure and everyone should have a good time! The Team Leads will get to keep a monster kit and map at the end of the day, as well as their new adventure.

The second slot will be a chance for new people to try out running an adventure as a Team Lead and for everyone to create a different adventure using the same components.

If you're interested in or willing to be a Team Lead, please post here of PM me and I'll help you in advance as much as possible. We really hope to see people trying new things this time!

Because of the odd nature of the main event and the fluid nature of the second slot, sign-ups are going to be a little different this time. I've added a generic "DMG2 Gameday" event for each slot. Please sign up for it as a player regardless of what you want to do and leave the role and level spots blank. Make sure you're signed up for it as a player in slot 2 as well and we'll group DMG2 & LFR people together on-site.

Also, if it turns out later that you can't make it please remember to resign from your spot by going back to sign-up and choosing "Leave Blank". We need to have a good idea of how many people to expect so that we can plan tables accordingly.

I would like to personally thank everyone for coming out to Dicehead Games in Cleveland yesterday for this event. I had a lot of fun and was pleased with our turnout for this event. But I would like to say I would like to see the turnout to double or triple our attendance for Weekend in the Realms in November. People if you would like to play your own character in November you will have to show up for the events that will be run from now until then and there will be several to play. The event is for 4-7 level characters and you cannot make up a 4th level character to play. You need to start showing up and play 1st level and let them grow. One table of guys took off after the very enjoyable DMG2 adventure and missed out on a 1-4 level game that was a ton of fun yesterday, so they cannot have that experience for their characters. I am asking for a turnout of 25-40 people at weekend in the Realms so make your plans now. We are not charging for this event like others will be, it is totally free and we will have other games as well so if you cannot play in it, we will have something for you to play. Kyle will post on it, and everyone will have the chance to play and have a good time. Thank you again.
Today is a good day to game!

The Worldwide D&D Gameday was really strange and interesting, and also surprisingly beefy of the monster side  If you missed it, hopefully they'll do something similar in the future as it was a lot of fun!

We had a good time in Etowah as well. Thanks to Russell for DMing the other table and to everyone who played. The format was actually pretty fun and we introduced 3 new players to 4E and all enjoyed it.

As for Weekend in the Realms, Unless I can get some people to start playing more LFR in the Athens/Etowah area, I will be coming to Dicehead to play.

I talked to kristi about playing some LFR and PFS stuff. She's good with it. Once a week at my house on weeks you can play twice. I will NOT give up Pathfinder to play the inferior LFR.

She said she'd DM a PFS game once in a while. Like maybe every 5th to 6th game. We can also ask Josh.

They guys had fun. We'll have to introduce them to LFR I guess.
