First of all, dude, that's why I'm hosting Chainsaw Buffet and Der Klown. Don't worry about it.
OK, I'm in on the search. Admittedly, it's in part because I've got my own plans for a costume for DragonCon, and searching for this stuff might parallel some of the accessories I need for my costume.
I'm seeing three parts to the costume:
- A long-sleeved undershirt.
- Flight suit/jumpsuit with sleeves cut off. This might be a set of coveralls (which I'm pretty sure would be the right color), although they wouldn't have all the pockets and zippers and stuff (you might be able to sew some of the pockets and stuff onto one, if you weren't afraid of totally screwing it up.)
- The vest, which I'm pretty sure you could find at an army surplus store. I know I've seen ones like it before. I think dad used to have one from the marines (color was different though), but I can't remember, and I can't remember if there was some specific name for it
This means you're going to stop looking down on us for doing stuff like this, right?

Yeah, but... are you going to make fun of yourself now? You do realize it comes off as looking down on others, right?
The edges of the sleeves are definitely cut off and frayed. (That's what I just said. :/) It may be the lighting, or the computer monitor I'm using, but I'd swear the jumpsuit was more brown.
Also, does someone want to jump in and point out the irony of Chad wanting to cosplay in an orange jumpsuit?
Anyone?
Anyone? Bueller?
Bueller?

No, but it certainly provides raw materially to be photoshopped as such.

I'm not looking down on people. I'm just saying... you're going to make it really easy to dish out sweet delicious justice for all the people you've looked down on.

True. So I suppose you won't mind if we describe your costume as "a guy in an orange suit with spiky blond hair."

I assume you'll also be taking your own cosplay advice.

Not sure. I think you ought to check some military surplus stores in the area, plus any place that would sell work clothing. (Not sure what to call it, but... you know what I mean.)
You might also want to IM me when you get a chance to talk some specifics about DragonCon.

I'm still shocked you're cosplaying.
So once you finish this, are you going to work on the Mugen? :P

I'm pretty sure when you first mentioned that, there were no stipulations.
If I can actually get started, I have other plans for DragonCon.

Mugen seems like he would take a lot of woodworking, between the sword and the shoes. Otherwise, you just have to find the right shirts and shorts, and dress up a piece of leather/cloth as the sword holder.

Who?*
* There is only one correct answer to this question, per Family Guy.

Yes, I'm sure he would love to take time out of his fabulous acting career* to help you with some mediocre cosplay.**
* Hey, he was in A Knight's Tale and Knocked Up, so he does have one.
** I am setting up someone for a great joke. Do not fail me. And remember that I get the assist.

I told you, I already have an idea of what I'm going to do for DragonCon.
I'm pretty sure Devan won't be going this year. She's moving back to Knoxville, though, so I bet we can convince her to go to conventions at some point.

No, something different.
